Nothing Last Forever : Advertisements comericial

Commercial Script
Andy: Crazy Andy here having escaped the mental asylum and dodged the boarder authority's to make it here to Mexico were I have gone even more crazy then the last time when I decided to put Twilight in the horror section of my store! No I have gone full blown nut job at this point because now I am stocking the book Nothing Last Forever and I will tell you folks it got it all explosions, guns, and hostages and it also was turned in to the 1980's action film Die Hard! Yes I do mean the Die Hard but they are some changes so I am jumping off  a roof top to doge this exploding deal but they just pulled me up and made me give them the detonators and this time they won. (Long Pause) Like heck they did no I jumped through that window didn't give them detonators and I jumped down an elevator shaft too! That is were I list the similarities but if I list any more the doctors will find me and stick me in a straight jacket and throw away the key and we wouldn't want that to happen to Andy!

Also if you come on down to the Klaxon Oil company location of the book we promise you won't be taken hostage! We also promise there will be not one not two but not 30 terrorist trying to kill you because Crazy Andy's Boss made a shady business deal with some people he should have!

(Random Person Walks in)
Andy: Well hey they stranger how are you doing today and what can I do you for ya
Stranger: Well I am looking for a book that has a guy one man armying through abuilding to save his daughter and kill terrorist and is a sequel to the book the Detective
Andy: Well you come to the right place because unlike the terrorist in the book I don't want no 600 million dollars for this book no I want 4 easy payments of 20 cents and I am not stopping there if you buy now we'll throw in Die Hard 2's basis 58 Minutes, but you have to call right now or crazy Andy will be sent back to the mental house were I can only scream 3 hours a day!

Book vs. Movie 2

Now that I am more towards the end of the book it is a lot easier to compare the differences between the two. Now for starters we have the events that are the same one of which is Joe Leland tying a fire hose around his waist so that he can jump off the exploding roof and into the building, in the movie it is the same deal except this time he has to shoot his way into the window. The characters are different then at the beginning because now in the book Joe has gone from being alone by himself to having this cop talk to him over a radio from the parking g lot, in the movie they have the whole police squad show up and they are telling him not to be a vigilante. In the book Joe is a World War 2 veteran and a retired cop and in the movie John is just a cop and he is also younger and more agile then Joe. Another difference is that in the book the villains are just terrorist taking over the building and killing people and in the movie they tone it down to just make them robbers even though they still take a lot of people hostage.

Then the characters also change because in the book the terrorist are made up of men and women were as in the movie all of the robbers are men. Overall right now I think that the movie is better then the book and that is because John Mclane is a lot more action hero like and fun were as in the book Joe Leland makes you realize just how serious the events in the book are and that he kind of old so it doesn't make sense that he would survive any of this. Also I think it is better when you can see a lot of the things that happen compared to visualization, like the helicopter crashing into the building is a lot more suspenseful in the movie then it was in the book. The reason is because you see the spectacular explosion  that John Mclane has to jump off the roof to dodge and then smash through a window. I also think it helps I saw the movie before I read the book because I might have a different opinion if I did it the other way around because I only found out recently that it was a book first.

Nothing Last forever symbols

This post is going to focus on what I think represents each character, and the characters I want to focus on are the main hero Joe Leland and the villain Anton Gruber and also I want to focus on Joes daughter Stephanie. To start off with I think that Joe Leland is best represented by an old west old gun fighter because he is an old world war 2 veteran that is on his way out and he wants his life to just be over and done with so it takes a lot more risk as a character in his last outing as a hero. The old west gun fighter also represents him as he wants to get out of the life he is in because he wants to retire and spend time with his grandkids and again to restate he is at the end of the line and he ends up at the wrong place at the wrong time and does what he can to save the people he tries to save and he realizes that in the end his age will be the biggest obstacle he has to overcome. The symbol that represents Anton Gruber is best represented by a bee because he acts as a pain in Joes thigh constantly badgering him when he gets to close to the hostages or one of his men and he end up pulling one over on Joe and tricking him with fake guns and other things like fake killing people. He is also represented by a bee because he is acting like a yellow jacket were he goes any were close to him he executes a hostage without any mercy and he hunts the main hero with all force. The symbol that represents Stephanie is a ghost of the past because she made a mistake that is what causes the events in the books to occur when the terrorist take over the building because she made a shady business deal that made the company look greedy. This also represents her because she is the reason why Joe shows up in the wrong place at the wrong time as she goes through her divorce and she wants to see him for Christmas and that comes back to bite everyone in the rump. To go out of the norm I think I should come up with a symbol that represents the Klaxon Oil company in which the story takes place because it represents greed because the whole story takes place around greed because the company made a shady business deal that made them greedy and the terrorist wants to dump 600 million dollars out the building then kill all the hostages so the setting in of it self is one of the main characters as it plays a part in every aspect of the book.
